We Don't Get Paid When You Like Our Posts — Here's Why It Still Matters

Someone Said Nonprofits Get Paid for Likes and Shares

We hear a version of this a lot:

"Nonprofits like yours must have plenty of money — you get paid every time someone likes or shares your posts."

So let's clear this up. 👀

Quick Nonprofit PSA

When you like, comment on, or share one of our posts, Ender's Wish does not get paid for that.

Not a dollar. Not a penny.

What your engagement DOES do is help our post reach more people. And that can be huge for us.

  • A share might put a dog in front of the person who decides to foster them.
  • A comment might help our post reach someone willing to donate a bag of food.
  • A like might help the algorithm show our fundraiser to someone who wants to help with a vet bill.

Where Our Support Actually Comes From

We are a real 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The money and supplies we receive come from actual donations, fundraisers, sponsors, grants, and people in our community choosing to support the work — not from Facebook.

So when we say "if you can't donate, please share," we don't mean Facebook is going to pay us. We mean you're helping us get seen. And sometimes being seen by the right person is exactly what an animal needs.

Can't donate? Share. Can't share? Comment. Can't do either? Even a like helps our content get seen.

Community is how organizations like ours grow, and we're incredibly grateful for everyone helping us build ours.
